Charging Levels to Fit Your Needs

Explore the different charging levels that offer convenience and flexibility no matter where you live or how you drive.

There are three levels of electric vehicle (EV) charging; Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 (also known as DC Fast Charging).

L1 (Level 1): Low-Level Charging

Accessible from any standard 120V outlet with the available Mobile Power Cord. The Ford Mobile Power cord is also great to keep in your trunk for emergencies or when you want a boost. L1 low-level charging can get the F-150 Lightning with extended-range battery fully charged (up to 100%) in about 95 hours.

Provides charging through a 120 Volt (V) outlet.
Does not require the installation of additional charging equipment.
Delivers approximately 5 kilometres of range per hour of charging*.
Recommended for low daily mileage.

The Ford Mobile Power Cord provides Level 1 charging capability at home, as well as at other destinations.

L2 (Level 2): Mid-Level Charging

Ideal for overnight charging. Accessible via home installation of the 240V Ford Connected Charge Station and Charge Station Pro wall chargers or the Ford Mobile Power Cord using a 32A connector. Also available through 240V outlets at some workplaces or public charging stations. L2 mid-level charging can get the F-150 Lightning with extended-range battery fully charged (up to 100%) in about 14 hours.

Provides charging through a 240V outlet.
May require installation of additional charging equipment, such as the Ford Connected Charge Station or the Ford Charge Station Pro.
- The Ford Mobile Power Cord also provides Level 2 charging capability with the 32 Amp (A) connector.
Delivers approximately 32 kilometres of range per hour of charging*.
Can be found at home, workplaces, and public charging.

L3 (Level 3): DC Fast Charging

Charge your EV quickly on the go at public EV charging stations like those in the BlueOval™ Charge Network. L3 DC fast charging can get the F-150 Lightning with extended-range battery fully charged (up to 100%) in about 40 minutes.

Provides charging through a 480V outlet.
Requires highly specialized, high-powered equipment, as well as special equipment on the vehicle.
Can deliver approximately 86 to 125 kilometres of range in 20 minutes of charging*.
Most often found at public charging stations, like those within the BlueOval™ Charge Network.

Mobile Power Cord

Compatible with all Ford EVs (BEV) and plug-in hybrids (PHEV), the available Ford Mobile Power Cord provides Level 1 and in some cases Level 2 charging capability at home and elsewhere.

The Ford Mobile Power Cord, also known as the Ford Mobile Charger, provides Level 1 and Level 2 charging capability at home, as well as other destinations.

With a standard 120V outlet, you can add an average range of 5 kilometres per charging hour**. With a high-power 240V outlet, you can add an average range of 33 kilometres per charging hour.
