The 2020 Ford Explorer will go into production in the spring of 2019! Ford has decided to revamp the 2020 model of the Ford Explorer to go along with the reincarnation of the Ford Bronco for 2020. So, you’ll have to wait until 2019 to discover the all-new silhouette and all the amazing new features!
In the Ford Explorer that will enter production in 2019, you can look forward to four powertrain options, including a 2.3-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine, which is expected to generate around 280 hp and 310 pound-feet of torque. Little information has been provided on the subject, but it’s a safe bet that the fuel consumption of these EcoBoost engines will equal that of their predecessors.
2019 will also see the introduction of a new version for the Explorer. The Ford Explorer ST, featuring a 3.0-liter V6 dual-turbo engine, will replace the current Sport version. Its power is estimated at 400 hp with 400 pound-feet of torque. A hybrid will also be offered for 2020. The same 10-speed automatic transmission found in the Mustang and the F-150 will be present in the 2020 Ford Explorer, available in 2019.
While you’re waiting for it to come out, feel free to take the 2018 Ford Explorer for a free test drive at Solution Ford in Châteauguay!
