Why change a winning formula? While the competitors are renovating their popular models every five years, for 2019, Ford has decided to keep its second-generation Fusion for a seventh consecutive year. More elegant than ever, this midsize sedan offers a driving experience distinguished by its simplicity and safety.
Apart from upgrades to its computer system and some minor retooling, the Ford Fusion will have the same dynamic, elegant look as its predecessors, while benefitting from a sleeker front-end design that changes the layout of the fog lights and air vents. Two new choices in rims, as well as new options in interior and exterior colors, will also be available for 2019.
A 1.5 L turbocharged 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine will come standard on the SE, SEL and Titanium models of the Ford Fusion. As for the Fusion Energi Plug-In Hybrid, it will be equipped with an improved battery pack, which will offer an estimated range of 34 to 40 km in all-electric mode. This hybrid version will also be available with a 2.0 L Atkinson-cycle 4-cylinder engine with continuously variable transmission for an incredibly smooth ride.
Good news! The Co-Pilot360 suite of driver-assist technologies will now be standard equipment on all versions of the 2019 Fusion. These technologies include a blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, a lane-keeping system, auto high beams and a rear backup camera. Several other safety systems, like adaptive cruise control and traffic sign recognition, will be optionally available on both the fuel-engine and hybrid models.
