The first hybrid pickup in Canada, the 2022 Ford Maverick, will make its entrance this fall in Châteauguay. This innovative compact pickup is lighter and less imposing than its big brother, the F-150; however, it boasts a spacious, high-tech cab, as well as a fully customizable short bed. Whether you choose the hybrid powertrain or the optional EcoBoost gasoline engine, the 2022 Ford Maverick will have no problem accompanying you in your day-to-day travels and your weekend getaways.
The 2022 Ford Maverick features a unibody design with a transverse engine, somewhat like Ford’s crossovers, including the Bronco and the Escape. While it may be a compact pickup, it will prove to be fearless when the time comes to transport heavy loads. In fact, it has a base towing capacity of 2,000 pounds, as well as a payload capacity of 1,500 pounds. And with the optional gasoline powertrain, the Maverick can tow up to 4,000 pounds. Nevertheless, the 2.5 L hybrid engine boasts an estimated fuel consumption of 5.9 liters per 100 km in city driving.
The 4½-foot customizable bed of the 2022 Ford Maverick offers a perfect place to tie down your bicycles, your ATV, your tools or even your sports equipment. The multi-position tailgate can extend the bed up to six feet, while the optional FlexBed will allow you to create a bike rack or compartments of different sizes. You can even connect to electricity outdoors thanks to two optional 110 V 400 W outlets, perfect for blowing up your bicycle tires or hooking up your cooler. Two 12 V wires are also available to power a small refrigerator or LED lights.
The cab of the 2022 Ford Maverick not only seats five but also offers a multitude of storage compartments, including places for two bottles of water in the doors, a large center console where you can store your laptop, storage underneath the rear seats and much more. You’ll also enjoy full connectivity with the optional SYNC 3 system, which includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, as well as a WiFi hotspot, all of which you can control through a large color touchscreen.
