The fourth generation of the Ford Ranger has now been unveiled! After the recent redesign of another one of the most popular pickups, the F-150, it’s now the Ranger’s turn to receive an update. We’ll be able to admire the new silhouette toward the end of 2022. However, we now know more details about this new redesign. Discover it at the same time we do!
The design of the next Ford Ranger, available in 2022, is at the intersection where the F-150 meets the all-new Maverick: the headlights are equipped with thin C-shaped LED strips recalling the shape of those found on the automaker’s smallest pickup, but with a more rugged spirit, like those found on the popular F-150. The grooved hood and rounded front fenders give this midsize pickup the appearance of an all-terrain vehicle, while the wheelbase is now two inches longer and the track is two inches wider. Although the style of the third-generation Ranger was similar to that of the Escape from the same years (with softened, rounded lines, thin headlights, etc.), we’re happy to report that the fourth-generation Ranger will feature a more rugged style, popular in the F-150 and more fitting for a pickup.
Aboard the Ford Ranger, available in 2022, you’ll find a completely modernized cabin. The center console features a large 10.1-inch touchscreen (with a 12-inch screen optionally available) displaying the SYNC 4 infotainment system. There’s also some additional storage space in the doors and underneath the rear seats, enabling you to transport more personal effects or tools.
In terms of powertrains, the Ford Ranger, which you’ll be able to drive toward the end of 2022, is equipped with a 10-speed transmission and a 2.3 L four-cylinder engine capable of producing 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. If you require more towing capacity, the optional towing package will surely enable you to haul up to 7,500 pounds, just like the previous version.
For even more power and possibilities, why not opt for the new Raptor version of the 2022 Ford Ranger? Nothing’s been confirmed to date, but if the rumors are true, this version may be equipped with a 2.7 L turbo engine generating more than 300 horsepower. And since it’s a Raptor, we can also expect it to offer exceptional off-road capabilities.
Fans of the Ford Ranger will be pleased, as the model that will be available in 2022 may offer a new appearance package called “Splash.” With a vivid yellow color recalling the model from the nineties, the body of the Ranger will feature several distinctive elements, including lustrous black and orange accents on the grille, exclusive matte-black rims and glossy black trim on the bumpers and side-view mirror caps. In the cabin, you’ll find orange contrast stitching on the seats, gear shifter and parking brake lever.
Whether you need a pickup for work or you’re simply looking for more power on the road, the new Ford Ranger will certainly fill the bill. Come explore the advantages of the third-generation Ranger, currently available at Solution Ford in Châteauguay.
