For the 2023 model year, the popularity of the Ford Escape remains undiminished. This year, the automaker has treated its compact sport utility vehicle, which figures among the most popular in its class, to some extensive remodeling. Ford modified both the appearance and the cabin of the SUV.

However, the vehicle has retained all of its former powertrains. The 2023 Ford Escape still offers two gasoline options and two hybrid options. The base engine will be a 1.5 L 181 hp EcoBoost, while the premium engine will be a 2.0 L 250 hp EcoBoost.

For 2023, Ford also continues to offer its hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, supported by a 2.5 L hybrid engine. The Base and Active models come standard with the 1.5 L EcoBoost, while the ST-Line is available with the 1.5 L or the 2.0 L EcoBoost engine, as well as the hybrid powertrain. The Platinum model is available with the 2.0 L EcoBoost engine or the hybrid powertrain. The PHEV is an autonomous model situated at the top of the range.

A new style for the 2023 Ford Escape

The most significant change in the Ford Escape is in the front end. The previous grille has given way to a more rugged aggressive version with prominent horizontal lines and a new treatment for the headlights. The automaker has also redesigned the taillights and rear bumper to make them more dynamic.

The interior boasts exceptional workmanship and an updated, modern style featuring several new materials. However, the biggest changes are in the middle of the center console, which now sports a larger 13.2-inch touchscreen.

The new 2023 Escape takes advantage of this update to offer SYNC 4, Ford’s most advanced infotainment system to date, including refined voice commands and updates over the airways. A 360° camera, Alexa compatibility and a new Blind Spot Assist system are also among the new optional features.

While the SUV has retained its previous versions, the 2023 Ford Escape has added a new model with a sportier temperament: the ST-Line. It’s basically an appearance package consisting of darker trims, red topstitching and a flat-bottom steering wheel.
