The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning continues its momentum into the year. With the vehicle’s excellent fundamentals in place, the manufacturer has made adjustments to its lineup and options while ensuring that prices for different versions remain reasonable. The PRO, XLT 311A, FLASH, Lariat 511A, and Platinum trims have the following starting prices (in order): $59,995, $69,995, $86,995, $99,595, and $112,495.
Another noteworthy point for 2024 is the increased availability of Lightning models due to the substantial $2 billion investment Ford has made in its production facilities. The effects of this investment will become apparent in the coming months, particularly with the targeted improvements to the XLT versions.
The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning features dual motors and all-wheel drive as standard. These two electric motors combine to produce a total power output of 452 hp and 775 lb-ft of torque in the “standard range” configuration, thanks to a 98.0 kWh lithium-ion battery. With the “extended range” option, the battery capacity increases to 131.0 kWh, and power increases to 580 hp and 775 lb-ft of torque. In the first case, it can travel up to 386 km on a single charge, while the second configuration extends the range to 515 km. When it comes to towing capacity, the figures are 7,700 lbs and 10,000 lbs.
With a robust chassis, independent rear suspension, and a lower center of gravity, the Lightning is suitable for both leisure activities (smooth ride, stability) and work-related tasks (a maximum payload of 2,000 lbs and numerous LED lights for exterior illumination). It also boasts a front trunk with a capacity of 400 liters, capable of holding up to 400 lbs of tools or luggage.
The new FLASH version of the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning replaces the base Lightning XLT (312A) model and is only available in the “extended range” configuration. It comes standard with the Bang & Olufsen audio system and a 15-inch central touchscreen with wireless SYNC 4A connectivity (previously reserved for Lariat and Platinum trims).
The XLT 311A version remains available with a standard range battery and carries over the technologies from the 2023 XLT. Another variant is the Lightning Lariat (510A), which becomes the Lariat 511A, and the PRO version now includes the speed sign recognition system. The optional Active Park Assist 2.0 is no longer available.
