The 2024 Ford Maverick pickup has been available for order since last July. This extremely popular compact pickup is still very affordable in its base version with a gasoline-powered engine. Given the overwhelming demand, it’s completely understandable that Ford is prioritizing those customers who have reserved a 2023 Maverick.
Another important piece of information: the super-economical hybrid version, one of the least expensive of its kind on the market, will become optional. Since the highest demand is for the versions equipped with the inline-four EcoBoost engine, Ford has decided to include this motor in its little Maverick pickups from the outset. This 2.0 L turbo can produce 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.
Nevertheless, in 2024, Canadian consumers, like those in the US, will have the possibility of opting for two-wheel drive with the turbo powertrain. Meanwhile, all-wheel drive will still be optionally available. As for the hybrid version, it will continue to come exclusively with front-wheel drive.
The 2024 Ford Maverick will come on the market largely without changes, aside from a couple of additional colors (Terrain and Azure Grey). The body, as well as the mechanical design and equipment, will stay the same.
However, the automaker will likely revise the packages. Therefore, the premium Lariat version will now include the luxury package (with a Bang & Olufsen sound system, a 400 W converter, navigation and more). For fans of off-roading, the Tremor package will remain available, as well.
The same goes for the FLEXBED system. It enables equipping the Maverick’s bed with a number of useful solutions for optimizing use of the cargo space for transport, storage and work. In fact, Ford offers a catalogue of over 150 accessories for that very purpose.
The 2024 Ford Maverick pickup will retain essentially the same modern, up-to-date cab. For example, the usual driver assist features will all be there with the Co-Pilot 360 suite of technologies. We’re talking about Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, the Lane-Keeping System, Cross-Traffic Alert and more.
