The recently unveiled 2024 Ford Ranger is currently available to Canadian consumers. And now, we have the opportunity to get it in a version that’s even more rugged, powerful and eye-catching: the Ranger Raptor.
The 2024 Ranger lineup (XL, XLT, Lariat and Raptor) can meet the typical needs of those who own a light pickup for work. However, the automaker has also made every effort to ensure that the Ranger is equally suited for pleasure. As a result, there’s more room in the bed, electrical outlets for camping and a whole host of storage spaces in the cab. Ford also added towing technologies, notably including the Trailer Brake Controller and Pro Trailer Backup Assist (PTBA). The midsize pickup can pull up to 7,500 pounds and haul a maximum payload of 1,711 pounds.
In front, the Ranger’s new look bears a certain resemblance to that of the Bronco. The head- and taillights are in the shape of a C-clamp, the wheel housing is now larger, and the tailgate sports a conspicuous RANGER logo.
The basic architecture of the 2024 Ranger rests on Ford’s T6 platform. A 10-speed automatic transmission is standard equipment on all versions; however, the Lariat exclusively features an E-shifter, enabling use of the Active Park Assist 2.0 feature and installation of the PTBA feature.
To offer better control and a better driving experience, Ford has elongated the track and wheelbase, reinforced the chassis and repositioned the rear shocks and shock mounts. There’s now 10.4 inches of ground clearance.
As for powertrains, you have two choices: a 2.7 L inline-four EcoBoost turbo engine (270 hp/310 lbf·ft) and a 2.7 L EcoBoost V6 twin-turbo (315 hp/400 lbf·ft). On the Raptor version, you’ll find a 3.0 L V6 that delivers 405 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque.
If you need more room, the 2024 Ranger is available with the ergonomic SuperCrew cab. The interior materials and workmanship are of superior quality. An 8-inch instrument cluster comes standard (12 inches on option), as well as a 10.1-inch (or 12-inch) infotainment screen. The latter includes the SYNC 4 system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and a 4G LTE modem. It also displays off-road and navigation data.
The 2024 Ford Ranger already promises to be excellent. So contact us to make sure you don’t miss out.
